Below are the instructions for setting Mac OS X to Obtain an IP Address automatically:
- Open the Apple Menu, and go to "System Preferences".
- Click on "Network".
- In the Show drop-down box, choose your network connection.
- If you are using wireless to connect to your modem, choose "Built-in Airport".
- If you are using an Ethernet cable to connect to your modem, choose "Built-in Ethernet"
- Click on "TCP/IP".
- In the "Configure IPv4 Using" drop-down box, select "Using DHCP". Press "Apply Now".
